A fusion of refreshing fruit and ice cream delighting customers since Meiji 35

“Because it’s in a clear glass, it has to look good from above and from the side,” says Kazuhisa Hashimoto, Beverage Director for Shiseido Parlour’s Headquarters Store in Ginza. Shiseido’s parfait looks tantalizing. Among the 30 or so types of seasonal parfait available throughout the year, their Spring Fruit Parfait, made with a variety of domestic fruit, has a wide range of flavors. Fruit such as watermelon and cantaloupe are available, but citrus fruit such as pomelo and dekopon mandarin orange are used as base flavors.

Not only is it nice to look at, but its texture and freshness surprises as well. And, Shiseido has one more surprise: their ice cream. The base of the Shiseido parfait is its vanilla ice cream, specially made in an adjacent room. The recipe that has remained unchanged since Shiseido’s founding. The fruit and ice cream of the parfait unite to create a delicious, premium dessert. Everyone has their own favorite flavor and way of mixing the fruit and ice cream as they work their way down the glass, but when they reach the bottom, the verdict is unanimous: it’s delicious.
