Omotesando Koffee London

First a one man show in Tokyo, Omotesando Koffee is now becoming a global operation with shops in Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore and Bangkok. The brand new Omotesando Koffee in London is the latest opening and the first in Europe.
Opened in 2011 by barista Eiichi Kunimoto, Omotesando Koffee started as a little café in an old, tatami house in Omotesando Hills in Tokyo. Initially it was only supposed to be open as a pop-up for one year or until the landlord decided to demolish the house. But the venture lasted for four years. At Omotesando Koffee everything from beans grounding to brewing is transparent and visible to the customer. The centrepiece of the shops was and still is a cube like counter, where a single barista serves one customer at a time. It is inspired by the Japanese tea ceremony, an experience shared between two people, a journey for your senses and much more than just drinking a cup of coffee.
