‘Colours of Japan’, Images of the Country through the Seasons
In this exhibition, photographer Hidenobu Suzuki offered a pictorial voyage through the country's spectacular landscapes.

From 8th October 2018 until 19th January 2019, the Maison de thé de la Chine in Paris’ 6th arrondissement hosted the exhibition Colours of Japan, put together by photographer Hidenobu Suzuki. The photographs taken by this former hairdresser present landscapes that are both sumptuous and ancient.
Approaching photography in a similar way to painting
Hidenobu Suzuki seeks to link photography to Japanese painting. He previously demonstrated this in his impressive photographs of Japanese fireworks. He captured some of the images exhibited in Paris using a flash.
This technique enables him to accentuate the contrasts in his images, making the colours even more vibrant. In Colours of Japan, the photographer showed a poetic, peaceful vision of Japan.
