The Beauty of Everyday Japanese Life, Seen Through the Eyes of Shin Noguchi

©Shin Noguchi
Street photographer Shin Noguchi chooses not to direct his lens towards the extraordinary or things that have never been seen before, but rather towards the beauty of existence of life in Japan as it passes by calmly, day after day.
Shin Noguchi has been wandering the streets of Kamakura and Tokyo since 2010. As he wanders, he takes time to stop and sharpen his gaze by looking at moments of life caught in a second. His photos are an understated, humorous summary of the subtleties of the ordinary.
Shin Noguchi tirelessly continues his sincere, passionate quest for the modest beauty that is to be found in everyday life, always remembering, as he writes in his biography, that ‘street photography always projects the truth’.
Noguchi was the 2014 Winner of the MAP Talent Prize at the Festival de photo Toulouse. He has been featured on The Leica Camera Blog six times, in Internazionale, Libération, Tages-Anzeiger, The Independent, etc, and some assignment work has been also published in Die Zeit, Zeit Wissen, and Libération.
