Oji Masanori Beautifies Everyday Objects
The designer creates pieces that exude solidity but without appearing heavy, particularly by working with the textures of materials.

Trained as a designer and architect, Oji Masanori has a special interest in everyday objects. Cutlery, glasses, lamps or simple self-adhesive wall hooks, his creations —made from leather, brass, solid wood and occasionally paper— are designed to be held and, above all, to last.
Oji Masanori, who hails from Hiroshima and specialises in industrial design, restores the inherent nobility to these objects that we use so often, as we tend to forget their very existence.
His creations include brass lampshades, brooms with handles in the shape of walking sticks, chopping boards with unusual shapes and impeccably designed sellotape dispensers, all of which stand out not only for their aesthetic value and functionality, but equally for their apparent sturdiness.
Oji Masanori’s work can be viewed on his website and Instagram account.
