Located south of Kyushu, the southernmost of Japan’s main islands, Yakushima is a preserved territory where unspoilt nature flourishes. It consists primarily of mountains and a virgin forest that is home to endemic species. Some of its yakusugi cedar trees are over 1000 years old.

Its idyllic setting and tranquillity make it the ideal destination for those who enjoy outdoor activities and who are looking for a change of scenery.

More information about Yakushima can be found on the island’s official website.
