KZA Kitazawa, the DJ Who Mixes Influences
View this post on Instagram
KZA, real name Ikuzumi Kitazawa, is a Japanese DJ, but more importantly a ‘digger’, someone who travels the world looking for rare discs to incorporate into his mixes. When listening to his albums ‘Dig and Edit’ and ‘Dig and Edit 2’, French pop, disco, soul and electro can all be heard. The artist mixes Gainsbourg’s rhythms with German electro, and then when you least expect it, he adds a disco beat for good measure.
KZA, a member of the group FORCE OF THE NATURE alongside Kento Sasaki, known under the pseudonym DJ Kent, draws on whatever influence takes his fancy. His second album opens with a track that’s quite simply incredible, entitled Vous Dansez, an intoxicating, sweet ballad that’s the perfect soundtrack to a summer’s day.
