Elegant Styles, with Comfortable, Genderless Vibes at The Library in Omotesando
Good news for men who prefer to keep their fashions simple: The Library, a select shop that has been steadily growing in popularity since its creation in March 2018, has opened a branch in Omotesando on September 8. The Jiyugaoka store, which opened in March, only handles ladieswear, but the new Omotesando store also handles menswear.
Centered on British-origin brands such as Margaret Howell and Sunspel, every item in the high quality collection, from coats and jackets to accessories such as shoes and tote bags, has been thoughtfully selected. Sundry items are also available throughout the store and, as the name suggests, attractive foreign books line the entryway. The books are curated by Yusuke Nakajima, manager of the Post bookshop in Ebisu.
A tabloid issued by the store in collaboration with Rosemarie Auberson is also generating comments. Auberson, a Paris-based art director and illustrator, includes prestigious firms like Hermés and Cartier among her clients. The current edition audaciously features an abstract painting she created for the occasion. The plan is to publish the tabloid once every six months.
Tucked away on a quiet street free from the commotion of Omotesando, this ‘library’ is a place to encounter clothes that will be loved for a long time, as well as items that appeal to your intellectual curiosity. A genderless store with comfortable vibes—why not drop in and see what catches your fancy?
