Some bookshops are seeking to stand out from the rest by offering innovative, unique concepts. This is especially true of Post, a shop based in Ebisu district in Tokyo, which wishes to showcase the work of publishers in an unexpected way: by only offering the works released by one publishing house at a time. This selection rotates every two or three months, thus enabling readers to discover the work of publishing houses in detail and become more familiar with their editorial line.
A selection of independent publishers
In a minimalist setting, Post offers numerous works from all four corners of the globe, mainly dedicated to photography and art. The shop’s originality lies in the fact that it makes a point of choosing independent publishers that are not so well-known in the literary sphere.
Post therefore allows readers to discover a vast catalogue. This unique establishment also organises various exhibitions displaying the work of local and international artists, as well as conferences, and pays homage to books and those who bring them to life.
More information about Post can be found on the bookshop’s website.
