Bar Martha, the Place to Be for Music Fans

Located in the district of Ebisu, Bar Martha is a secret place where night owls greedy for cocktails or for whiskey can kick back and listen to some vinyls.
In sprawling Tokyo, where there are more than 1,600 bars, Martha’s holds its own. Only an austere door and a neon light mark the entrance to this cozy venue which gives way to an impressive record collection and nine-page list of whiskeys. Every night, jazz, blues or soul take to the turntables cheering guests who pile in to let off steam after a long day. The regulars are quite the legion taking to the bar as if it were their front room. An island among flashy establishments, cigarette smoke mingles happily among conversation and exchange which gradually become drowned out as the music gets louder over the course of the evening.
