Japanese artist Haruhiko Kawaguchi, better known as Photographer Hal, takes photographs of couples wrapped up together under a vacuum bag, sometimes in their own little world. We see Zohmey and Keiko in their kitchen, for example, and Kaede and Attci posing in their bedroom.

The series Flesh Love comprises over 80 photographs. ‘I wanted to wrap up couples under a vacuum bag to show how close they are and the love they share’, Haruhiko Kawaguchi details. His highly intense conception of love is explained on his website. It could also be seen as a metaphor for couples who are so close that they end up stifling each other…

Photographs from a series following on from Flesh Love by Photographer Hal were released in 2014 in the book Zatsu-Ran published by the Tosei-sha Gallery.
