You might wonder if Emiko Sato and Takeshi Kitazawa were watching the Super Bowl on 1st February 2004, because while the whole world felt the ripples from ‘nipplegate’, it would seem the designer duo took Janet Jackson’s wardrobe malfunction as a source of inspiration for their future label, DRESSEDUNDRESSED. Although their creations do not end up in tatters, they are comfortable with transparency.

Androgynous and sexy figures

Eight years later, the pair presented their first Autumn/Winter runway show during Tokyo Fashion Week. In 2013, their capsule collection saw them become finalists in the International Woolmark Prize. Since then, DRESSEDUNDRESSED has been collecting awards and recognition from across the globe with their clothes that are both androgynous and sexy.

DRESSEDUNDRESSED’s creations can be viewed on its website and on its Instagram account.
